CumbriaWe launched Creative Partnerships Cumbria in September 2004. Cumbrian schools from 14 wards selected by the DCMS were invited to submit an expression of interest in taking part in the programme. Last year, for Phase 1, two infant and 10 primary schools, six secondary schools, two special schools and one pupil referral unit took part in a range of creative programmes that also involved more than 36 creative practitioners. This year we are working with about 50 schools across Cumbria - 15 core schools who are continuing with Phase 2 as well as additional associate schools, seven members of the Rural Academy of rural secondary schools and four remote rural primary schools. We are investing in evaluation, working with partners to generate a sustainable infrastructure for the future and also contributing to initial teacher training in the North West along with our colleagues in East Lancs, Merseyside, Manchester and Salford. There is a lot happening and you can find out more here or by requesting a copy of our Cue Cumbria! newsletter. Creative Partnerships, Cumbria is pleased to provide the abominable traffic, an online resource to support teaching and learning across the curriculum and help address themes of slavery, displacement, diversity, exploitation and human rights. We hope that it will become a useful and sustainable classroom tool. :: Latest news
