KentCreative Partnerships Kent has been established since 2002 and is a catalyst for positive change in education, culture, community and the economy. We work in close partnership with the Children's Services Authority (CSA) in Kent and other key strategic partners to promote creative learning across schools in Kent with the ambition of developing the imaginations, aspirations and skills of young people enabling them to optimise their potential, make improved life choices and contribute to their changing communities. We are working closely with Kent County Council to roll out and embed a programme of creative learning projects in schools within all 23 school clusters across Kent. To manage this roll out, known as Creative Seeds, Kent County Council has seconded three members of staff to work in the Creative Partnerships Kent office. In September 2005, Creative Seeds began when ten Schools of Innovation were selected from the original Creative Partnerships schools. These ten schools each nominated a partner school to link with and mentor through the year as part of the new Creative Partnerships Kent programme. From January 2006 we started working with an additional ten schools from the Maidstone and Swale clusters, and then from September 2006 ten schools from the Ashford clusters. We are currently working with between 80-90 creative practitioners on approximately 40 creative learning programmes in as many schools across the region. There are a number of research initiatives taking place with external organisations including Canterbury Christ Church University, Aim Higher, The Hay Group, The School of Emotional Literacy, and independent researchers including Shelby Wolf and Shirley Brice-Heath. Once published, these can be viewed and downloaded from this site. We run a full programme of Advocacy and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events throughout the year. This programme is aimed at educationalist, creative practitioners, school governors, and parents.
