How has the question of enquiry for each of the 3 participating schools supported them, working in partnership with creative partners, to develop a culture of creative teaching and learning strategies which impacts positively upon their curriculum and supports achievement of targets in their school development plans?

Summary

To write a case study focusing on how creative partnerships in all three schools has impacted on their curriculum. The case study will comprise of five key sections;

  1. A literature review relating to Creativity in Education, theories regarding teaching and learning styles and an exploration of managing change in Educational environments and the national/regional settings and context.
  2. Case study one: Christ Church Primary.
    Can ‘Mantle of the Expert’ provide rich opportunities for teaching and learning that open up cross-curricular dimensions and inspire enquiry that is regarded as purposeful; can it develop learners who are more independent, deep thinking and able to collaborate and communicate effectively?
  3. Case study two: Glebe Primary.
    Can enquiring about and celebrating our past, exploring the context in which we live and learn, lead to a more confident belief in ourselves as effective, life long learners?
  4. Case study three: Maple Court primary.
    By exposing the teachers and pupils to a range of creative approaches to investigative Science (AT1), can we change attitudes to how we learn; while aiming to promote a more healthy lifestyle (body and mind)?
  5. Overarching Case study.
    Compare and contrast the nature of the creative partnership in each of the 3 schools undertaking a creative question of enquiry. Consider methodology, aims and objectives of each project, outcomes for teachers, learners, partners and the school community alongside impact upon the curriculum and school development plans.

The author will work closely with the 3 Lead Teachers and 3 Head Teachers to identify the starting points within each school which will form the baseline of the individual case studies. From these initial discussions/decision making sessions methodology, procedures and processes for the case studies will be planned to ensure a focused approach to monitoring, evaluating and recording outcomes.

Aims

  • Build positive relationships with staff, partners, pupils and other case study stakeholders as identified in each school.
    Hold constructive dialogue with staff, partners, pupils and other case study stakeholders as identified in each school to ensure effective planning of what is to be observed, captured and evaluated as part of the case study.
  • Support and advise Head Teachers and Lead Staff as identified in each school on appropriate methods and strategies for acquiring pertinent information and evidence relating to their question of enquiry and subsequent evaluations to ensure that individual school objectives for the work are met.
  • Write a Literature review which includes a review of creativity and its importance in the field of education and learning, theories of teaching and learning styles, managing change in education and a reflection on current national and regional initiatives and influences.
    Write an individual case study for each school evaluating findings from the question of enquiry and utilising a range of approaches, research tools and methods of capturing outcomes in relation to initial aims and objectives of each school.
  • Write an over-arching case study which compares and contrasts the approaches, processes and outcomes of each school.
