Bright Space Speed Dating event with Practioners builds new relationships
8 Jan 2010
Creative Encounters Participants
Area Delivery Organisation: Bright Space - Birmingham, Herefordshire and Worcestershire
In the spirit of Christmas cheer, Bright Space invited a selection of Creative Practitioners to informally discuss their work on a one to one basis with Bright Space
Creative Agents (37 KB). The networking event operated much like a ‘speed dating’ session.
Those invited were either new to the Creative Partnerships programme or have limited involvement with it. It was an opportunity for both groups to exchange information and ideas about their practice.
With a wealth of cultural provision on Birmingham’s doorstep, Bright Space feel it is important to meet new practitioners from a range of disciplines so as to support the development of the Creative Partnerships Programme more effectively.
Keeping the theme of Christmas, there were games and entertainment interspersed with conversation and meetings, in addition there were presentations by Bright Space staff and a film screening of Ken Robinson.
In response to the overwhelming positive feedback from participants, Bright Space now plan to host a summer event that would offer support to the new intake of Enquiry Schools planned for September 2010.
The event was designed by Amy Martin, Bright Space’s new Creative Programmer and Craig Painting, Bright Space Creative Agent.
