Creative Partnerships Northumberland, Newcastle & Gateshead

Delivery of the Creative Partnerships programme in Northumberland, Newcastle and Gateshead is managed by Renaissance North East.

Renaissance North East works with museums to establish places of learning, inspiration and enjoyment for all, and to be central to, and reflective of, the region's character, culture, economy and aspirations.

This is achieved by extending and improving museum provision, through partnership, creativity and innovation, for the benefit of the North East and its diverse communities.

Creative Partnerships Northumberland, Newcastle, Gateshead is a catalyst for 'blue sky' thinking in education. Fostering long term partnerships which stimulate bold new ways of working, striving to bring teachers, families and creatives together, and equipping them with the resources to enthral and inspire young people - making schools fun and exciting places to be.

We believe creativity is the wider ability to question, make connections, innovate, problem solve and reflect critically. These are skills that are demanded by today’s employers.

Our programmes demand that young people are actively involved in leading and shaping them, taking responsibility for their own learning. This approach gives them the confidence and motivation to engage with their education and achieve.

The possibilities for creative learning are limitless; from using outdoor learning to improve standards in literacy to raising career aspirations through drama and dance.

We encourage an educational environment where teachers dare to ask questions that they don't know the answers to and lead their pupils through thought processes and investigations towards answers.

We bring together the imaginations of educators, creative practitioners and young people in dynamic, innovative and sustainable partnerships designed to increase enjoyment and raise creative thinking skills and aspirations.

We believe that as science and technology are changing the world at such a pace, education should aim to develop in young people ambitious, imaginative, enquiring minds, along with the confidence, thinking skills and tools needed to seek out and invent answers.

We value and celebrate different approaches to learning, and see them as a way of widening horizons and visualising ambitious futures.
