London East and South

London East and London South were established as two of the first sixteen Creative Partnerships areas in 2002 and merged to form one area in April 2006. We currently work with schools in the London boroughs of Greenwich, Hackney, Islington, Lambeth, Lewisham, Newham, Southwark and Tower Hamlets.

In the 2007/08 academic year 46 schools are delivering a Catalyst Project between October 2007 and February 2008. Catalyst Projects are developed by each school identifying a need or idea that can be addressed by working with a creative partner and this year focus on either whole school change, student voice or the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In addition to Catalyst Projects, Creative Partnerships London East and South is working on the following three strands of work:

Welcoming the World
A partnership with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) working with 20 schools in the five Olympic boroughs (Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest) exploring the theme of welcoming the world to London.

Manor Park Education Action Zone Programme
London East and South is supporting the London Borough of Newham to develop a year long creative teaching and learning programme in eight primary schools in the Manor Park Education Action Zone.

IPC Media Schools Design Programme
Working with IPC Media and three secondary schools to deliver a yearly skills and personal development programme, supporting young people to develop their visual literacy and an understanding of magazine design.

Visit the London webpage for more information about Creative Partnerships across London and to download our 2007/08 Programme Update.

In recent years Creative Partnerships London East and South has produced a number of publications including research reports, resources and packs and a number of these are now available to download.
