Children's Laureate Anthony Browne, the internationally acclaimed author and illustrator of children's books visited The Wroxham School on 3 February 2010. Anthony witnessed the school's outstanding creative learning practice and took a tour of its new double decker bus which is due to be turned into a stunning 'Storybus' over the coming months.

The Wroxham School, a Creative Partnerships School of Creativity, wanted to improve its library and enliven the learning space to encourage reading. Along with the pupils themselves, the school developed the idea of buying and refurbishing a double decker bus. Bought from Ebay, the bus will be turned into a Storybus over the coming two terms with help from pupils, staff and parents.

Alison Peacock, Headteacher, commented: "We want to make reading irresistible and having the Children’s Laureate, Anthony Browne, visit our school will really inspire our pupils. We enjoyed showing him why everything we do here is about creativity and how we have raised standards through creative learning."

As a Creative Partnerships School of Creativity, The Wroxham School works with the government's creative learning programme to further develop teaching and learning practices, form innovative partnerships with other schools and help to shape future education policy and practice.
