Patricia Hewitt Visits Leicester SchoolLeicester West’s MP Patricia Hewitt entered another world when she visited a rainforest in a city classroom at Forest Lodge Primary School this month. The I.D.E.A. Room project is part of an innovative programme in local schools that is transforming teaching for children and young people. Forest Lodge Primary School has been working with their partner Leicester City Museums and Ben Willetts, a lighting designer from Qlight, to transform an underused classroom space into a flexible, immersive learning environment. Creative Partnerships Leicester invited MP Patricia Hewitt to visit one of the schools involved to see the scheme in action. Children from the school led Patricia Hewitt on her rainforest adventure when she visited Forest Lodge Primary School, on Friday 8 June to see how both teachers and pupils are using creativity in learning.
