:: St John’s Primary are celebrating with celebritiesPress Release8/3/2005St John’s Primary are celebrating with celebritiesPupils and staff from St John’s Church of England Primary School, Walsall, were so proud of the work they did with Creative Partnerships they decided to tell 100 of the most famous and influential people in the country all about it. An exhibition of the responses they recieved will go on show at the school at 10am on Friday 18 March. The exhibition will be opened by Richard Shepherd MP, who was one of the 100 celebrities that was contacted by the pupils. The top 100 includes Kylie, David Beckham, Rt. Hon. Tony Blair, President Bush, Jamie Oliver, Lenny Henry and many more. As writing formal correspondence is part of the curriculum each pupil wrote a personalised letter to their chosen celebrity telling them about the Creative Partnerships activity that inspired them the most. Alongside the letter, they made stamped addressed personalised postcard for the celebrity to send back with a message for them. The pupils have received responses from The Queen, Prince Charles, Bill Oddie, Sir Richard Branson, Sir Patrick Moore, J.K Rowling, Aston Villa football club, Arsene Wenger, Wayne Rooney, Johnny Wilkinson, Tony Blair and Thierry Henry. Prince Charles' office at Clarence House replied saying: "The Prince of Wales has asked me to write and thank you very much for your letter and postcard. "His Royal Highness was delighted to hear about the visits and activities in which your school has taken part over the last two years, and which have enabled you all to enjoy such varied experiences. "His Royal Highness much appreciates your trouble in writing to share your enthusiasm in Creative Partnerships, and has asked me to convey his best wishes to everyone at St. John’s School.“ Notes for editors St John's Church of England Primary School is in Walsall, West Midlands.
