Creative Partnerships London North places creativity at the heart of learning, working with young people, teachers, support staff, headteachers, families and communities, partnered with creative and cultural individuals and organisations. Jocelyn has come to Creative Partnerships after a 25 year career in theatre, film and TV as an actor, director and dialogue coach. She grew up in Nova Scotia in Canada and came to Britain to train at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Her career has been wide ranging, from two years with the Royal Shakespeare Company, fringe and West End productions to many films and TV series, including soaps such as Emmerdale. Most recently Jocelyn directed a full-scale production of The Threepenny Opera. Jocelyn returned to Nova Scotia ten years ago and became involved in national education initiatives (ArtsinFusion and ArtsSmarts) both as an artist working in partnership with an educator as well as creating new models for arts based learning. She created a company with other artists that pioneered new approaches in this field and designed a Masters Course for Head teachers, entitled Ways Of Knowing, in 1999. She has presented at numerous conferences, most recently on the Value of Not Knowing at the Conference for Holistic Learning at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Jocelyn is delighted to be back in London with her two daughters. |
