Cabbage locust
Cabbage Locust, MInster school, Thanet

Synopsis

The Plagues project is the first part of the education programme that Creative Partnerships Kent is running in 20 Thanet schools as a way for them to have some involvement before the main live events of the EXODUS film being made in Margate in September 2006.

Each school has been teamed up with an artist and together they will interpret the word ‘plague’. This could be based on one of the 10 biblical plagues or they might choose to play with the idea and come up with a modern plague - for instance, a computer virus or a ‘plague’ of rubbish.

The work produced during these projects will be displayed as a gallery exhibition in Thanet, either at the Outfitters gallery in Margate or the Lurcher gallery in Broadstairs. The exhibitions will be open between 20 April and 3 July.

Please see the diary entries below for individual project information and a schedule of the exhibitions.
