Synopsis
How does looking at our own identity through storytelling help us gain empathy for other cultures and understanding of our own culture? Every culture has a story about a tree. Think about it - all the songs, poems and plays you've heard about, read or listened to. This was the starting point for three creative practitioners, eight classes of children and their teachers in January 2007. A starting point to investigate identity and culture through storytelling, music and visuals which culminated two months later in two multi sensory performances, a handmade book and a touring exhibition.
